This salad is delicious! I adapted this recipe from Trim Healthy Mama.

Trim Mac Salad

Servings 6


  • 2-2½ lbs ground beef, made into patties
  • ½ cup water, beef broth
  • tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 large onion, finely diced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 3-4 large heads of crisp romaine lettuce, roughly chopped
  • 3-4 ripe tomatoes, roughly chopped
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese, grated
  • 3-4 dill pickles, chopped, or ⅓ cup dill relish
  • Thousand Island dressing
  • ¼ cup sesame seeds


  • Cook the beef patties in a large skillet over medium-high heat, about 10 minutes, then pour off any excess fat. Break apart patties into bite size pieces. Add the water, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt and pepper.
  • In a separate smaller skillet, saute the onion in the butter until translucent.
  • Assemble all ingredients and enjoy!
